Since its introduction in 1987, the Blue Bird TC/2000 has become North America's best-selling transit-style school bus. This innovative vehicle combines all the benefits of a transit-style school bus with a price tag appropriate for today's more budget-conscious school districts. Available in front-engine configuration, the TC/2000 accommodates up to 84 passengers and incorporates Blue Bird's renowned all-steel body construction, a rugged, road-tested steel chassis with 50,000 psi frame rails, and the superior driver visibility and maneuverability of a transit body design.
Wheelchair lifts allow easy access for special- needs students and can be installed in a variety of locations on the vehicle. Wheelchair occupants can travel in safety thanks to the TC2000's four-point tie-down securement system (middle) and flexible flat-floor body design.
The TC2000's flat front design provides a wider field of vision, allowing the driver to observe even the smallest children in the most critical areas near the front of the vehicle.
The TC2000 integrates Blue Bird's most famous design feature: all-galvanized steel body construction. By merging one- piece roof bows and all-steel body construction with our rugged straight-rail chassis, we've created the strongest vehicle design in the industry.
